The Academic Support Center (ASC) is home
to three programs designed to help students
stay in the university until they have
received their bachelor degree. Student
Support Services (SSS) and Washington TRiO Expansion Program (WaTEP) are federally
funded TRiO programs, while the Program
Leading to Undergraduate Success (PLUS)
is funded by Eastern Washington University.
The ASC has successfully helped EWU students
graduate for over 30 years. The six year
graduation rate for the 2005-2006 cohort
was 17.7% higher than the overall graduation
rate for the university.
The ASC is staffed with committed individuals
such as Retention Specialists who work
closely with students in order to ensure
their academic success. Independent scholarship
abilities and effective group collaboration

small group instruction, one-on-one tutoring,
and intrusive advising. Student involvement
is high, and the staff provides the necessary
